Is Superhuman still worth it for checking emails in 2024?
I’ve been using it for 5+ years and can say I still haven’t found anything better. Here’s 3 reasons I use Superhuman (and 3 things to be aware of if considering Superhuman):
✅ Increased Organization. I have different inbox splits for different email categories allowing me to triage what’s important first. I have inbox splits for important emails, calendar notifications, support tickets (that I write to other companies) and newsletters
✅ Speed. Those 3-5 seconds it takes Gmail to sometimes load would often cause me to click off the screen while waiting, and I’d often forget what I was even going to do. Superhuman is super fast, there is no loading time.
✅ Enjoyment. I enjoy checking emails more when I get to use shortcuts and a clean + minimal interface.
For me personally and professionally, it’d say it’s been 100% worth it.
And now here are some scenarios where Superhuman won’t solve your email problems:
❌ Teams that need to collaborate on emails and you’re sending rough drafts to each other via Slack or other channels (use a Help Desk like Help Scout instead).
❌ Business owners that lack email boundaries and give their email to every customer. Definitely recommend setting up support@company.com & sales@company.com for customer and sales requests instead of giving out your personal email. This allows for other team members to jump in to collaborate (in a shared inbox) and makes it possible to scale.
❌ You’re super reliant on email extensions (e.g. Copper or folk's email extensions). The extensions don’t work with Superhuman (though don't worry, the emails do still track in both). We’ve used Copper for 7+ years and decided to forego using the extension in favor of Superhuman.
At the end of the day, the best way to know if Superhuman will actually work for you is to try it out.
